When it comes to door glass, there are two different types of glass that could be in your vehicle. The most common type is called tempered glass. When tempered glass breaks, it shatters into thousands of pieces, leaving behind sharp edges and shards of glass, and a mess in your vehicle. On the other hand, laminated glass will not create as much of a mess when it breaks. With laminated glass, there are two panes of glass with a sheet of laminate in between them, which means that when it breaks, the window stays mostly in tact, just showing a crack through it. Unfortunately, you can’t just put any piece of glass in your vehicle when it breaks, but this information helps us ensure we can get the correct glass for your car! See below for examples of each type of glass when it breaks. The first picture is tempered glass, and the second is laminated.
